Exercises for the muscles of the back, lower abdomen and pelvic floor can help to stabilize the pelvis and lower back and ease pelvic/hip pain during pregnancy and they also prepare mother for birth. Pain and discomfort in the shoulder region can be alleviated with specific movements designed for the shoulder area. After birth, exercising regularly helps mother to identify the pelvic floor muscles, to strengthen her abdominal and back muscles and to speed up recovery. Baby massage is an intimate and gentle way of communicating with the baby, encouraging parent and baby interaction. Massage techniques, breast feeding, bathing, skin care, nappy changing and exercises are demonstrated by video clips.
